About

Tasheena Medina

Hi there!

My name is Tasheena Medina, and I'm not only a performer, choreographer, and educator based in Los Angeles but also the founder of The Gratitude Academy. I made the leap from Arizona to Los Angeles in 2011 to pursue my passion for performing arts and earned my BFA in Dance Theatre from AMDA Performing Arts College. Over the years, I've had the privilege of working on a multitude of thrilling projects on both stage and screen, including memorable experiences like being Assistant Choreographer to Nicole Berger on FOX TV's Brooklyn Nine-Nine and NBC's Parks and Rec, as well as my work with Nickelodeon's AwesomenessTV.

But my journey doesn't stop there. Choreography is a deep-seated passion of mine, and I've had the privilege of contributing to remarkable productions like Mary Zimmerman's Secret In The Wings and The Sparrow, for which I was even nominated for an LA Stage Alliance Ovation award. Most recently, you can witness my choreography in Coeurage Ensemble's 2022 production of RENT.

However, my commitment to personal development extends beyond the realm of dance. I'm deeply enthusiastic about nurturing personal growth through practices such as Yoga, Intuitive Dance Meditation, and Social Emotional Learning (SEL). Currently, I'm pursuing a Master of Arts in Yoga Therapy at Loyola Marymount University, where I'm delving into these transformative techniques and how they can be harnessed to benefit others.

As an educator, entrepreneur, and writer, I am dedicated to guiding individuals of all backgrounds and experience levels towards authenticity, equipping them with essential techniques, and creating a safe and supportive environment for their personal growth and development.
